IKAN BAKAR

If you are ever in Malacca, you can try Muara Sungai Duyong for some good ikan bakar. This restaurant is situated along the river mouth of Sungai Duyong though I must admit, getting there can be a bit tricky. The seafood here is fresh as it comes straight from the river/sea. Make your way to the counter displaying their seafood offerings and take your pick. The boss will weigh it out on the scale and give recommendations how it should be cooked.

They have different styles of cooking your dish, choose from stir fry, deep fry, steamed, grilled and more. Also try their famous taufu bakar and their otak otak. Enjoy your meal with packets of nasi lemak and a fresh coconut to wash it all down. A must try is their special dip, which is a mix of black  sauce onions, green chilies and limes. Perfecto.

Come early to avoid the crowd as this place packs early. We suggest you give them a call before you come as they might be closed during Raya.

DIM SUM @ Malim Jaya

You definately cannot judge a book from it's cover. This also work on place of eat at Melaka.

This Dim Sum I have try with my friends few years ago. I accidently found that the Egg tart ( one my favorite pastry ) is so delicious.

I have bring my parents to try this time. It was about 9.00am. We have see a various of dim sum that we never try before.  What I recomment the must try item is : Custard Bun ( 流沙包). I have try this kind of PAO at Singapore. Now I surprisingly found that this PAO is more and more delicious than  what I have try in my life.

Others like Lotus leaf rice ( 荷葉飯), Basil Dumpling, Normal Dumpling...
Some of it I don't know what is the name. I just order something special. But all of them taste good. Or you can ask the waitress to recomment what's special. For me, I look at the table beside me, and ask the waiter what are they eating. Then I order. And the result is, good. I try new food!

I am happy that my parents do enjoy the Dim Sum with me.

Putu Piring

Putu piring is my favorite kuih at my home town. It is easy to get. ( just in the taman of Bukit Beruang I can found it.) And it is cheap too. RM1 for 3. I prefer food without deep fried. So that I really into this kind of steam kuih.  Make by rice flour ( the skin ), grated coconut ( seal up the filling )and palm sugar(the filling, we normally call it "gula melaka") You can easily found it. I normally eat the one who sold at Bukit beruang. I found it is not easy to get this kuih at Melaka. I prefer Melayu style. Putu Piring

This is some place that you can find the Putu Piring:

Bukit Beruang ( just opposite Petro station )
Time: after 4pm till evening

252, Jalan Tenkera (next to the Sports Toto shop). Opens 7.30-11pm. Closes on Sundays
The putu piring here is absolutely the best.
