665 Family Restaurant

I love 665 Restaurant. Well, it actually not look like a restaurant. It is a place serve chinese style of food.
When I back to my hometown. My family and I always have a dinner at this place. They serve tasty food with low price.

I strongly recomment the TIE BAN DOU FU (鐵板豆腐 Terpanyaki style bean curd).  The gravy and the egg stick which stick on the iron plate. It is just so delicious.
Then other dish you must try is Nyonya steam fish. ( 八丁魚you have to order with BaDing fish). The steam fish with nyonya sauce taste not really spicy, but sour.
Curry Fish Head ( 迦里)- Fish head with vege in a clay bowl.
Salted Egg fried Prawn (奶油蝦球) - I cannot have prawn, but my family say it is really delicious.
Fried Pig Leg - (泰國豬手)Serve with Thai sauce

If you wish to have lighter food, you will never miss the Fish Noodle (魚片米粉)(with soup).

Kopi Roti and Boil Egg

This Kopi + Roti + Boiled Egg = Happiness
I love this Kopi and Roti since I was a child. It is a typical set breakfast of Melaka ( also Singapore, Pinang). My dad brings me to Kopitiam to have this. I don’t drink Kopi when I was young.  I love the Roti. Of course, the boiled egg! And we will request a Kampung egg.
We would like to break the egg and put it on the saucer of the Kopi cup. Don't forget to have some of pepper powder and soy sauce. It is just perfect to me. I love to dip the egg mixture with my toast. Some time dip in to the Kopi.
So this is the traditional. And I love it.
I’m going to introduce this Kopitiam just beside the River of Melaka. The name is call Lei Zhou Kopi. Of course, the toast is unique to me. With white and think Muar Roti. Filling with Kaya & butter (there got butter & margarine, butter is the frozen one).  They also supply some others local food like: NASI LEMAK, MEE GORENG, MEE HUN GORENG … etc

Kopi = Coffee in language of Malay (Coffee with condensed milk)
Roti = Toast in language of Malay (with butter & Kaya)
Kaya = Jam made from coconut and  egg (tropical, typical jam. Kind of Nyonya food)
Kopitiam = Coffee shop, language of Hokkien

Kampung = Village. Kampung egg means egg from the chicken live in village. You can also call like a country style of chicken. Is not a chicken that live in “jail” created by human. So, simply call the Kampung egg as Organic Egg. The egg York looks more saturate in orange yellow.
